If you are going to be in Omaha on April 15th, this would be GREAT!

Her first book, Disability is Natural: Revolutionary Common Sense for Raising Successful Children with Disabilities, was published in 2001, and is now in its second edition. The presence of a condition we call a “disability” does not have to be a barrier to a successful life! Children and adults with disabilities can and should lead real lives—wonderful lives—participating, contributing, and being included in their homes, schools, jobs, and communities. Kathie is notorious for helping parents, people with disabilities, teachers, medical professionals, therapists, service providers, and others learn how to ensure children and adults with disabilities (and their families) can live the lives of their dreams.

It’s time for New Ways of Thinking! Doom and gloom, focusing on a person’s “problems” or diagnoses, and other negatives are out! What’s in? Questioning conventional wisdom and the status quo; focusing on a person’s strengths; inclusion in all areas of life; ensuring children and adults with disabilities have the tools they need to succeed; and more!
